update....

I am trying so hard to get as many video's and pictures as we can for you all to see miss ellie as much as possible! Tomorrow our little love will be 3 weeks old. I can't believe our time in the nicu has been that long, although sometimes i feel like she's been there for months. With much prayer involved and consults with many doctors. Mike and I have been directed by our hearts to move ellie to another hospital here in the area that has more therapy for her eating issue. We don't have many other options at our nicu except for her to improve over night (we still believe this will happen)! Today Mike and I had a little outing together while graham was napping and we went to one of my favorite places, target! I started looking at different bottles and nipples to see if there was something that the OT that has been working with her hadn't tried. I found a bottle that had a very soft nipple and smaller nipple for her to suck. I've noticed a lot of times that she will gag while taking her bottles and then, comes the spit up or throw up. So I showed this bottle/nipple to mike and he said, lets try it. I went to the nicu this afternoon- and ellie ate the best she has eaten as far as sucking, breathing, and swallow goes that I've seen since she was born! I was practically screaming in the nicu...calling all the nurses to come see her! She didn't get a lot of volume down, but the technique was 99% better than before. So we will try this bottle again tonight to see how she does again! That's our update for now...I'll try my best to keep u all as updated as we can! Your encouragement means the world to our family!
