Day 8 in the nicu!

As of last night- Ellie was struggling to take 2 cc's from her bottle. Last night we prayed over Ellie and my obgyn took the precious time yesterday after my weekly check up to pray with Mike, and I. During time like these I can't imagine going through life just wondering where hope comes from, will there be hope, or the questions we are constantly asking- but knowing there is a purpose! The good news today- Ellie hasn't gained any weight since she was born- but today she did! She gained 2 oz! Then....this morning we called the nicu check in on ellie's to see how her night was and.......this morning ellie took her whole bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she really did! She sucked, swallowed and breathed 50 cc's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a victory! I was meeting with her doctor this morning and Dr. Beard was looking over Ellie's chart and I said, "Can u believe Ellie took her whole bottle this morning?"- Doc- " hmmmm are you kidding me- she really did?" Me- "Yes, aren't you so proud of her?" Doc- "She really took her bottle?" Me- "YES! she really did!"

The amazing part of today was seeing Dr. Beards eyes- yesterday she told us Ellie would take a while to eat and she might be in there for a while. God does work! Now- we just pray she continues to eat. Everyday we rejoice in the small things- thank you all for praying for our precious baby girl- we are feeling your prayers constantly!
