eating....VICTORY!

Some of you all that may read this blog will bring a frog to your throat because you have been sweetly praying for my baby ellie. I decided to start some soild foods with ellie just because she is now 6 months and b/c I really wondered how she would do with a thicker/ mushy texture. I started with some homemade banana's and sweet potatoes muched together. I was kinda scared to even bring the spoon to ellie's mouth, scared of what she would do. I put a little in her mouth....she started laughing. Then, kinda pushed it around her mouth for a bit and then...swallowed it. So I tried again....she did the same thing. Today is the third day I've given her solids and she absolutely loves them and eats it ALL! Did you read that right? YES, she eats it all! I can't even express the excitement we felt standing in our kitchen as she ate spoonful after spoonful! Mike wanted to try he was so amazed. I rememeber this was my least favorite stage with graham- he didn't catch on to babyfood good at all. I felt like it took him forever to really eat it. Now, how insane is this that ellie has a feeding tube and loves solids! Sometimes I think God has the biggest sence of humor! I am thanking you all for praying for my child's eating....we aren't sure how long we will have a feeding tube in ellie's tummy but the fact alone that she is eating an entire bowl of food gives us soooooooooooooo much HOPE for what victory we have for ellie's eating!

Look at this bowl....it is empty! Amazing! She did it!

I can't explain what JOY this empty bowl brings our hearts. There have been many trying days where as a mom I have struggled with fear and wondered what was the future for our ellie. God has really stretched my heart to depend only on today-it is enough for our hearts alone. God knows what tomorrow has in store far better than we do! Each bite I gave her my heart felt more and more excitement and by then end of the bowl I was holding ellie in my arms weeping telling her....you did it you did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These two are soooooooooooooooooooo cute together. She adores her daddy! Doesn't this just make u smile!

In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light my strength my all!!!!
