19 months!

Slow down time....stop, stop, stop! Graham is 19 months- really almost 20 months! This stage of his life has been a hoot for us all! Graham is very active- some call him Brave Heart because he's constantly running with sticks, and you can just see little mind roaming- what to do next! I laugh at him all the time, even when I try not too when we are working on a discipline issue. Graham listen very well to us when we talk through things with him. Of course he still tries to test the waters all the time, but if you tell him something is off limits or dangerous he will sign back to me the "danger" sign. We are very thankful for baby signing. I did lots of research on language development when Graham was a baby questioning whether we'd try signing or not. Well, at 8 months Graham started responding to "more" sign- asking us for more food, juice, music, whatever we were doing that he wanted more of. It has been a huge help in our communication barriers and I feel as if it's really encouraged the lack of frustration when he does want to tell us something and can't verbally communicate. So now we have lots of signs for different things- and Graham has even made up his own signs from time to time!
I tell ya, I never knew motherhood could be such a blessing. I am amazed at what all we learn everyday as parents. I am humbled constantly! Graham has been sick the last week with some yucky bug, and the night less hours of sleep are covered by not only God's strength, but also just the strength in knowing your child needs you. I know the time with Graham has already flown by, I am already praying for my heart when Graham brings that first girl home! hahaha! I never thought I would say that but once you have your own children- bring on the protectiveness! No- I know God will grow my heart through the years and when that times comes- well- we'll deal with that then!

Graham's favorite things to do right now:
-Play outside, with sticks!
-Pretend to build anything- just like his da da.
-Play in the car out of his car seat (not while the car is going!)
Saying- "ho ho ho"!
-Bath time-always a joy for him- just give him two cups to fill up with water- back and forth- he could do that for hours, although he'd turn into a raisin!

This age has been really fun for us all! He is learning so much each day and trying to use words as best as he can. I have no clue how I got the name he calls me, but daddy is da da and I am a short version of that....da! He walks around the house calling me, "da". So- that's my name for now!
Thankfully, the pros for having a blog is this is the best way for me to remember all the things that I don't want to forget about Graham or what's going on in our lives. It's already fun to look back at older post and read about his baby stages. So- that's it for now! The blog took me way to long to finish! I think mommy brain has totally set in now- can't remember anything!
