Catching up!

So...as you can see I have been a little slow with my blogging! We have had so much going on recently by the time everything is done for the day...I am too pooped to blog! So, here I am on a Friday night- the dishes are clean, Graham is sleeping, my last minute presents are wrapped and the house is quiet, so I write...

First of all- my mom was here last week and helped us out tons! Those of you who have kids and the mom come around.....what a blessing! It is also such a joy to watch her interact with Graham, they are too cute together...she can't stop laughing at him, while he looks at her and sees all her goofy faces and gives her a hard laugh straight from his belly! She was a HUGE help to Mike and I both- I tell ya all the laundry, cooking, ironing all adds up before you know it! Thanks mom for serving Mike, Graham and me! We were able to celebrate her b-day while she was here. We made her a nice yummy breakfast and took her out to celebrate one night- out on the town (yeah right)! I count my mother a huge blessing in my life. The way she loves on Mike and I is amazing, thank you mom and I hope your b-day this year, you truly felt loved from every direction! Graham is teething right now. Poor thing...So- just when you think you can sleep through the night.....there you are again up and down throughout the night. But, those little guys some how, some way give you the energy when they smile or need mommy to hold them through their pain. Although I am sure that God gives me the strength I need on those sleepy days to make it until 5:30 when the greatest thing happens...daddy comes home!!!!!!! All you moms know what I am saying, right? Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful to stay at home with Mr. G and LOVE parenthood...but when daddy comes home I can have a little time for catching up on things around the house and odds and ends!

Now to daddy/Mike- My sweet hubby has been doing this thing each day to encourage me. He calls it the 12 days b/f Christmas clues! I have been getting these fun clues each day via E-mail, letter, or text and with each clue I have to go find the hidden gift and see what it is! The first night was this Monday night he gave me, "The Behold The Lamb" concert; with Bebo Norman, Andrew Peterson, and lots of other amazing song writers. My mom was still here so she babysat while we had a great night together. I will tell you...any of you guys who live here in B-ham next year you must go. We were so blessed and amazed at the new found joy in the Christmas season, having a son! I think we both were choked up in the end as we both were so overwhelmed by the celebration of how last year we were both questioned if our pregnancy would be full term.....God's faithfulness and love takes me to new measures through the realization that He gave us Graham...it was nothing I did (well you know what I mean, ha)! So, anyways back to the 12 days of Christmas clues....I have gone to a concert, found a starbucks gift card...I love going there some nights to journal or read, or just catch up on needed phone calls. He has given me my favorite DVD, just some fun small things here and there...but tonight was the one I loved the most...so far! He said when he came home from work, "so the reason you haven't gotten a clue today is, you can choose anyone you'd like, someone in need and bless them with a gift card or money"....and he gave me a sum of money. We both thought of two of our dear friends who are celebrating their anniversary tomorrow and we both knew they didn't have anything extra to celebrate this special day ...so we dropped off a card in their mailbox! That is what sweet sweet Chritstmas is about to me....we have more than enough, I want my heart to learn to give more to others and not myself. Thank you Mike, my dear love for letting me share this story to have on this blog to remind me of this Christmas 2008.....a story that has blessed me (your wife) so very much! Your love for others is HUGE! Thanks babe! I wonder what the clue will be for tomorrow?????
Tomorrow we are going to see and meet Santa..so there will be some new pictures of Mr. G soon!!!!!!

Shelli-
I am so glad I have been able to encourage you through the last few days with the 12 days before Christmas. You are such a great encouragement to Graham, me and so many others. It's your turn.

It's also my way of leading us to a place where we give more than we get for ourselves. We have so much, I count it more of a blessing to give than that we have!

Love you lots, Mike!
