1st Christmas!

Graham's 1st Christmas with mommy and daddy! 2008

We had a very special Christmas with Graham in the house this year. We did the usual trip to Atlanta to visit with family and G was a trooper in the car seat both ways there and back! Graham had a sweet 1st Christmas with both grandparents and aunts and uncle! My most cherished memory this Christmas was watching Graham in my dad's (pops) lap at the Christmas Eve Service. He was so sweet as he watched everyone singing, candles in the church, all the kids, and people. He was a good boy since this was his first time not to be in the nursery...he went to BIG church! That is a sweet moment I will always remember.Graham napped through most of the gift opening Christmas morning. But when he woke up he got to open his first stocking. Santa is known to give really fun stockings in the Bruner house, and as kids Stephen and I were always soooo excited about our stockings...almost as much as Santa! So, this year Graham had a cute green Santa stocking front and center on Bi Bi and Pops mantle. When Graham would get really excited about something he would wave his arms up and down really quickly and get a determined look on his face to open whatever the gift was. He had a great time! Uncle Stephen and Aunt Sarah got to spend some time with Graham....Aunt Sarah even got Graham to sleep one day. They are too cute with him!
Mike was sick most of Christmas break...poor thing...I gave him a bug, so he spent a lot of his time off sleeping and resting on the couch watching some movies. I think God knew he needed some rest time. Christmas night we went over to his parents house, and they had made some chicken soup for him, isn't that what everyone wants when they are sick? We spent some time with them and exchanged gifts with Nana and Pappy.
We got to visit with our cousins and other Aunts and Uncles in B-ham before we left for Atl. But, we sure did miss them on Christmas day! =(
Even though Graham and mommy are sick now from the bug spreading from person to person, and the crazy, "going" Christmas always demands....we are so very thankful for the time we got to spend with those who love Graham so much...I am amazed at the love this little boy already gets, even from those miles and miles away! As a mother I can't even begin to express my thankfulness to those who expressed such love to us this special Christmas. It was a lot to travel with a baby, but worth the it to see those who want to shower Graham with the sweet story of Jesus birth and amazing love! Thank you family! There will be pictures to come!
